Meiden Ceramic Flat Sheet Membrane (CFM) Advantages

Because of this material and design, these filters have excellent performance characteristics:

• Operation to 80C

• Particle removal >95% for 0.1 µ particles

• Packaged in stainless steel frames, easy maintenance access

• Can be stored dry

• Completely recyclable materials (ceramic and PVC)

• Can be used with advanced oxidation (ozone) with no damage

• Surfaces scoured by course air bubbles during operation

• Backwash briefly flowing each filtration cycle to minimize fouling

• Clean in place (CIP), typically with low concentrations of bleach/citric acid

The advantages of the Meiden ceramic membrane include:

• Wide temperature and pH operating ranges without degradation

• Good fouling characteristics with oily influent

• Longer expected lifetime than polymer membranes

• Higher flux than typical polymer membranes

• Stable operation, with good permeability recovery

• Robust filter that can be easily maintained through scouring, backwash,  and Clean-In-Place (CIP)

• Less operation costs than hollow fiber type due to scouring air savings

This submerged flat sheet filter uses “outside-in” water flow.
