Meiden Ceramic Flat Sheet Membrane (CFM) Applications

Reuse, Recycling and Reclamation of waste water.

Water is a primary resource for industries and domestic use. Treatment of the waste streams generated by the these sources is the focus of the Meiden Ceramic Membrane. Typically, the more challenging waste streams include organic carbon, metals, oily constituents or emulsions, sediment or suspended solids, and elevated levels of total dissolved solids. Due to the increasing volume of waste water throughout the world, the outcome and effect of discharging process water on the environment has become a significant issue of environmental concern.

While there are many ways to purify water, ceramic membrane filters have a successful track record in water processing systems around the world.

Ceramic membranes enable the precise separation of hard solids (pollutants) from water. The unique characteristics of the ceramic membrane materials and structure have made it possible to process wastewater which in the past could not be processed through membrane filtration.  Also, they can be readily used in the same locations that polymer filters have been serving.

These flat sheet ceramic membranes are excellent for application in many applications to minimize new water consumption, and reduce the costs for waste water disposal.

• Oil & Gas industry produced water

• Industrial waste water treatment

• Domestic/Municipal wastewater treatment

• Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR)

• Pretreatment of Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Electrodialysis (ED)

• Solids separation and liquid recovery

This membrane is designed for the purposes of microfiltration.  The range of “microfiltration” allows for a high flux rate and removal of many materials which make it excellent for the pretreatment required for RO and other functions. Meiden’s pore size is 0.1 micron.
